Offline Gmail search & more interfaces to access CloudMagic

Hi,

The most awaited feature offline search is out. You can access super-fast search of CloudMagic when you are even offline.

This release also boasts of usability enhancements. Now you can access CloudMagic in many more ways. Use it the way you like it. With this release you can search in CloudMagic through Chrome’s Omnibox & Browser Options (toolbar popup).

In Omnibox type ‘c’ & hit tab (or space) to activate CloudMagic & enter the search term.

You even get instant search results in the Omnibox drop-down as you type.

Just click on the CloudMagic Browser Options icon to see CloudMagic search bar. Just by using this feature for a week, I personally saved a lot of time, as I can access the search results without opening Gmail’s interface or switching to the tab where its open. No matter what you are browsing, CloudMagic’s search results are just a click away.

To summarize you can access CloudMagic’s super-fast search results through following interfaces.

  1. CloudMagic search bar inside Gmail’s interface
  2. CloudMagic full page search bar
  3. Chrome’s Omnibox
  4. Chrome’s Browser Actions

Firefox users can find the following shortcuts to access Interface-2 listed above:

  1. Toolbar
  2. Tools menu
  3. Context menu

We are excited about this release & are eagerly looking forward to your feedback.

Download the latest release from here.

Cheers,

Ameen,

CloudMagic Offline has been discontinued and all offline users are prompted to switch to the new CloudMagic, where the results come from our servers. Unlike CloudMagic Offline, the new CloudMagic works both on your desktop and mobile.

Cheers,

Chirag

Seems that CloudMagic does not support offline search any more, doesn't it?

I was on my PC without internet connection, and I wasn't able to search.

I heartily agree with the poster who wants to eliminate the Cloud Magic button that appears at the upper right of each page. Redundant since I have the Cloud Magic icon to the right of my search bar in Google Chrome, where all my other extension icons are. I don't need two of them. Please give us a way to shut off that extra icon.

Love Cloud Magic -- saves lots of time. Thanks.

i see you mentioned evernote is on your wishlist, do you mean that you will be indexing evernote or just having a way to view cloudmagic in evernote.

i was just searching on google to see if there was a way to do that, i would be great to be able to have a notebook in evernote that you could search, instead of having to open the browser and look there.

is there anyway to access all the index and just copy it into a note myself? that wouldnt be too bad either, i could just copy and paste over the next emails every month.

glad to hear twitter is on the list, i do the same with my tweets every now and again, copy and paste them to a note into evernote so i can search for things ive sent, its a bit clumsy though cos it copies all the images, it would be nice to just copy the text on its own.

thanks anyway for the great service :D

Dave,

Thanks for your feedback. Yes, Evernote support in our wishlist. Frankly, we haven't started working on it. We will consider your suggestions when we start. Currently, we are working towards Google Calendar & Twitter integration.

@Bill,

Thanks for your patience. I completely agree with you that Conversation-view will make the search results more usable. I personally am a big fan of Conversation-view. This feature alone makes Gmail for what it is. Our engineers have picked up this feature for feasibility check. I will update you with what we decide.

Cheers,

Chirag

Please Sort Gmail Search Results by Conversation instead of by thread and I'll be thrilled;-) I've asked before and was told it's on the horizon.

Again, kudos for developing this workaround to Google's biggest GMail flaw!

But sadly, I still find CloudMagic of little use in solving my partial search problem because Cloudmagic's returning every email message thread in search results gives way too many hits in the results so I still can seldom find what I'm looking for.

@azulmarino,

You can hide CloudMagic icon from the Toolbar.

1. In Chrome, just right click on the icon & select "Hide Button".

2. In Firefox, right click on any icon & select "Customize". You'll be prompted with a pop-up listing several icons. Just drag & drop CloudMagic icon in to the pop-up.

Cheers,

Chirag

It should be possible to hide CloudMagic icon from the toolbar and context menus if so desired.

When I type 'c' into Chrome's omnibox, the first option I get is 'Press Tab to search craigslist.com'. Is there a way to reassign the c key to CloudMagic?

Great enhancements in release 2.6! I would love the ability to suppress the cloud magic search bar inside gmail's interface as it is now redundant/unnecessary with the addition of Omnibox and Browser options.
